Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development | Fourth Edition

Audience: This session is for individuals who are familiar with the Bayley-4 and want to expand their use and understanding of the measure.

Course description: This interactive learning track with Dr Betty Hutchon DSc MRCOT, Honorary Consultant Neurodevelopmental Occupational Therapist at University College London Hospital (UCLH)covers practical considerations for administering and interpreting the Bayley-4 in clinical practice, using both clinical and typically developing video case studies. Participants will have access to this course for one year and are eligible to earn CE.

Learning objectives: After attending this session, participants will be able to:

• Articulate at least three reasons why you might administer a standardized developmental assessment as part of your clinical practice with babies and young children. 
• Describe one reason why developmental age equivalent scores should be used with caution. 
• Describe five elements that should be included in a developmental assessment summary report for caregivers. 
• List at least two observations that would prompt further investigation of a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. 
• List at least two observations that would prompt further investigation of a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
